About the LMS Replacement Project
Now that Canvas has been selected as our new Learning Management System (LMS), the TXST Canvas web page will be the place you can go to keep up with all information regarding the adoption of Canvas, such as frequently asked questions and timeline.

TRACS is Texas State University's current Learning Management System, in service to faculty and students for more than 10 years.
In 2017, the university began researching whether it was time to enlist a new tool -- an effort to provide our faculty and students the best possible digital learning environment.
In 2018, potential solution providers were on campus for demonstrations. Based on input from faculty, students, and our advisory committee, two providers -- Brightspace and Canvas -- were selected for final evaluation.
The university community will have opportunities to further evaluate the two finalists with the sandbox environments, and your feedback will be used to help select the best tool for campus.
If a new system is chosen, a transition would begin by spring 2020.
