Vendors must include all content listed below by clearly declaring which item they are demonstrating. These form the basis for the post-demo survey all attending faculty will complete regarding each demonstration.

  • Provide a general orientation of vendor’s LMS.
  • Demonstrate how a faculty member will accomplish the following basic tasks:
    • Create and sequence content in their lessons delivery tool.
    • Upload a single file to their system's document repository

      • Highlight file size and type limitations if any exist.

      • Repeat this process with multiple files simultaneously.

    • Share learning resources (including quiz/exam question pools) 

    • Create, release, and evaluate graded activities (assignments, exams, quizzes, projects, etc.). Highlight the following settings:

      • Release and due dates

      • The grading process (including connections to gradebook)

      • Security measures (exam passcodes, IP address ranges, etc.),

      • How to allow additional time for students requiring special accommodations.
    • Use evaluation rubrics. How do they map onto predefined course and program level outcomes? Highlight any built-in rubric functionality.

    •  Add and edit grades in the gradebook manually.

    • Send a communication to an individual student and the class as a whole. 

    • Review course analytics. To what extent are analytics part of the core product?

  • Additionally, demonstrate:

    • The user experience for a student using both desktop and mobile. 

    • The process of migrating a pre-selected Sakai course into the vendor’s LMS.

    • How the system supports copyright compliance. Highlight alerts, license management, etc.

    • Features for building collaborative and project-centered structures (non-instruction).
